Offquest ("we," "our," or "us") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use the Offquest mobile application ("App").

2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Provide and operate the Offquest service.
- Verify quest completions through AI analysis, GPS, and HealthKit data.
- Track your progress, XP, streaks, and achievements.
- Enable social features like squads and leaderboards.
- Send notifications about quest status, timer completion, and GPS goals.
- Process subscriptions and payments through Apple's App Store.
- Improve and develop new features.
3. Location and Health Data
Offquest accesses your location and HealthKit data only when you actively choose a verification method that requires it. We do not track your location in the background or access HealthKit data outside of quest verification.
Location data is used solely to verify that you moved a required distance during a quest. HealthKit data (such as step counts) is used solely to verify fitness-related quests. Neither is sold, shared with advertisers, or used for any purpose outside of quest verification.
4. AI Processing
When you submit photos or text reflections for quest verification, this content is processed by AI systems to determine if the quest was completed. Photos and text are processed for verification purposes only and are not used to train AI models or shared with third parties for marketing.
5. Data Storage and Security
We use Firebase (Google Cloud) for data storage and authentication. Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest. We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information, but no system is 100% secure.
6. Subscriptions
Offquest offers an optional paid "Elite" subscription through Apple's App Store. Payment is charged to your Apple ID account. Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. You can manage and cancel subscriptions in your device's App Store account settings. We do not directly collect or store payment information — all billing is handled by Apple.
7. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We may share information with:
- Service providers: Firebase (authentication, storage), AI verification services, and analytics tools that help us operate the App.
- Other users: Your display name, level, XP, and achievements may be visible to squad members and on leaderboards.
- Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the safety of our users.
8. Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Verification photos and text reflections are retained for a limited period necessary for verification processing. You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us.
9. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate data.
- Request deletion of your data.
- Opt out of certain data processing.
- Export your data in a portable format.

10. Children's Privacy
Offquest is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us immediately.
11. Third-Party Services
The App integrates with Apple HealthKit and uses Firebase services. These third-party services have their own privacy policies. We encourage you to review them.
12. Notifications
With your permission, we send local notifications for timer completions, GPS goal achievements, and quest reminders. You can disable notifications at any time in your device settings.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the App or via email. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance.
